Unimark Construction Group teamed up with Nion Company, a world-class developer of advanced scanning transmission electron microscopes and other electron-optical instruments, to build their new manufacturing facility in Kirkland. Nion purchased the old City of Kirkland Court house and transformed the space into their new company headquarters.
The project consisted of a complete demo of the interior of the building, followed by construction of office space for the design teams, meeting rooms, production space and the installation of five temperature controlled rooms for the final assemblies of the Nion Microscope. Each of these rooms are designed to hold a temperature range of plus or minus two degrees. With our design-build MEP teams, we met the challenge and installed the power and cooling systems needed to achieve these specifications. The project was completed in 90 days to meet Nion’s grand opening date.
