Project Coordination

Unimark performs project control and coordination functions to ensure completion schedules are maintained. The project manager is responsible for:

  • Client communication
  • Budget and cost controls
  • Schedule preparation and updating
  • Coordination and administration of subcontracts
  • Product submittals
  • Owner changes
  • Final documentation

Site Supervision

The superintendent is Unimark's representative at the job site tasked with coordinating and supervising the activities of the Unimark work force and all subcontractors. It is the superintendent’s responsibility to ensure a safe work environment, quality performance and on-schedule project completion.

Scheduling

The Unimark project manager and superintendent work as partners to develop and implement the project construction schedule. The project manager updates the project schedule and resolves any scheduling issues. The superintendent is responsible for scheduling all subcontractors, labor and material deliveries at the project site on a daily basis, within the constraints of the overall project schedule. The job schedule is reviewed weekly at construction meetings.

Accounting and Cost Control

Unimark stays in control of project costs by using computerized systems for project management and accounting. This ensures decisions are based on real-time information and enables timely handling of payables and receivables.

Quality Control

Unimark is committed to uncompromising quality on every project. During construction, work is inspected daily to make sure it meets or exceeds plans and specifications.

Punchlist and Closeout

Prior to completion of the job, the Unimark project manager and superintendent develop a punchlist of remaining minor work and coordinate correction of these items by substantial completion. Any additional items required by the owner at the substantial completion walk-through will be completed promptly and to the owner's satisfaction. Unimark prepares Operation & Maintenance manuals and as-built drawings for the owner's future reference.
